Search engine optimization – the technique to get better rank of the website. After 2003 and before February 2011 things were going good. However after Google’s Panda Update – Many of websites have lost their ranking because of low quality content. Websites having more advertisement on their sites also were affected with Panda Update. It affected 12 percent of total search result. When the companies are trying to fine tune with panda update, Google shocked internet marketers with a new update in April 2012, called Penguin update. By penguin update Google does not check for spammer sites, instead it went for blog and article screening. After these updates many of SEO executives leave their online business and changed their profiles.
Many companies are ramping down just because of these updates as they are not able to achieve what they want. Is it all because of Google updates or it is company’s mistake that they can not achieve result? What Google, the king of search engine want from us. I think Google is just looking for better content and great sites. Over optimization and over SEO can not make ranking of any website better. So, it is a waste to do over effort for your website or blog. Google bot is getting smarter day by day. It is not fruitful to do keyword stuffing or exchanging too many links.
Then what works in SEO now. YES, it is just quality content. Below are some other tips along with quality content which can also work to achieve ranking of the website.
- Directory Submissions – In SEO, Directory submission is the basic footstep that must be done. It is submission of your website in better ranked directories to get back links. It would be a right decision to choose the suitable category. Free as well as paid directories are available for submissions. It’s up to you what you opt from them. DMOZ is the best example of directory submission site.
- Guest Posting – Contribution of your article to another website is called Guest posting. It is the best way to get more link value. In this, we have to request the blog owner to submit our article in his website. The important thing of guest posting is to submit article in the relevant blog. As you all know relevancy matters the most. After submission of article in blog, you can get one or two back links in the article or in the author byline. So start doing guest posting immediately as it can be the better decision for us.
- Video Submission – Video submission is the technique used for enhancing website traffic. You can create a video for any tutorial and if you have an e-commerce website then video of brand can be submitted in the various video submission sites. You can go for you tube, daily motion, my space and meta café for submission.
- Social Book marking – It is the method to store and manage your website in different book marking sites with the help of tags. In social book marking it is a mandate to follow, like and share other’s content. By doing this, you can get traffic for the website. So it is better to spend more time on book marking sites rather than just frequent submissions only.
- Social Networking – To famous your brand or blog, Social Media activities and social presence can be very useful. Integration of Facebook, Twitter etc. is most important in SEO strategy. You can increase your follower data base, more likes and more shares of your link will work great for you. So, include social networking in your regular work list.
There are many more methods like article submissions and forum posting that can also help you in better optimization of your site.
Google’s algo updates are really terrifying and a number of bloggers gave up already as they lost their 100% traffic. But still SEO is alive but we need to change the traditional SEO strategy. I have read somewhere that those links are much valuable which you have earned not built. The latest SEO techniques involves Guest blogging, frequently update your site, Unique content etc.
