When I was purchasing this domain, the first question in my mind was – What will I write in this blog? As I don’t have any experience of writing and also never written my syllabus notes by me. How it will be possible to write topics. Then I realize that I can write something about life, health and beauty. However today, I realize there is nothing without technology. So, from today I will start to write on technology also. Frankly speaking, I am not much aware of technology updates. As I am from SEO profile, I want to share my knowledge with newbie’s in this field. I will start from some basic acronyms and definitions that will be very helpful to understand the entire process of SEO.
SEO – (Search Engine Optimization) –It is the process of getting better rank in the various search engines like yahoo, Google and Bing so the number of visitors of website can be increased. The top a website ranks in the result, the better the chance to get more visitors to the site.
Search Engine Positioning – Search engine uses a spider to obtain loads of documents. There are different spiders for different search engines like Google has its bot to collect documents from the web. Then one more program, indexer, reads these files to generate its indices so that significant result can be achieved for every search result.
Keywords – Something that we type in the search engine search box to obtain some results, these words or phrases are called keyword or key phrases.
SERP – (Search Engine Result Pages) – When we type something in Google search box, the results that comes out are called SERP. The main job of search marketer is to obtain call to action listing.
Search Engine Ranking – The ranking of keywords in the search engine is called search engine ranking. Many tools can be used to find out the ranking of keywords like cute rank, SEO MOZ keyword ranking tool etc. or we can also check manually for keyword ranking to obtain the accurate result.
Stop Words – The words which have almost no value in searching. Indexers do not include stop words in their indexes. Some stop words are – from, how, by, com, are, as, an, for.
Keyword Occurrence – The keyword phrase that appears in the specific HTML document.
Keyword Density – It means how many times a keyword comes in a webpage. Keyword density matters a lot for search engines. It should be in the 6% to 8% range. Excessive use of same keyword in the document is called spamming.
Keyword Prominence – Distance of one keyword to the other keyword in an HTML section is called keyword prominence. It is very necessary to place the right keywords in the right position. Main keywords should be places in the top of the webpage.
